Association of Korea Journalists (AKJ) was established in 2001 with the purpose of enhancement of freedom of press in Korea. AKJ has representations of all leading dailies, weeklies and monthly publications in Korea as well as web, digital publication and electronic media.
Since its inception in 2001, AKJ has spared no efforts to establish the journalist unity and to improve journalist knowledge and professional duties by organizing seminars, publishing professional books and fostering relationships with foreign journalist organizations, to name just a few.
AKJ has also taken initiative in building IT awareness and IT culture in our profession to usher in multimedia era.
In future, AKJ will try to establish the digital databank and will conduct several studies on local and global aspects of digital media developments.
AKJ is ready to analyze different government initiatives and industry performance regarding online and offline media and will recommend different policies for the welfare of this sector. BIJF will also try to make their contribution on several global issues such as Digital Divide, Information Society and Knowledge based Economy.
